Characterization of Sulfides in Atmospheric Residue Fractions Using Selective Oxidation Followed by Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry

چکیده

An improved analytical method was developed for identifying sulfide compounds from aromatic fractions in Lungu atmospheric residue (LGAR). Sulfides aromatics were selectively oxidized into sulfoxides using tetrabutyl ammonium periodate (TBAP) and identified by positive-ion Electrospray Ionization Source (ESI) Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS). Results showed that sulfides with lower polarity LGAR could effectively ionize ESI this approach. Additionally, the mainly S1 S2 class species. The most abundant oxidation-generated O1S1 O1S2 had DBE values of 3~10 8~12, respectively. species, whose condensation degree higher than S1, likely form containing both cyclic thiophenic compounds.

Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry: a primer.

This review offers an introduction to the principles and generic applications of FT-ICR mass spectrometry, directed to readers with no prior experience with the technique. We are able to explain the fundamental FT-ICR phenomena from a simplified theoretical treatment of ion behavior in idealized magnetic and electric fields. The effects of trapping voltage, trap size and shape, and other nonide...

Characterization of oligodeoxynucleotides by electron detachment dissociation fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry.

Electron detachment dissociation (EDD), recently introduced by Zubarev and co-workers for the dissociation of multiply charged biomolecular anions via a radical ion intermediate, has been shown to be analogous to electron capture dissociation (ECD) in several respects, including more random peptide fragmentation and retention of labile posttranslational modifications. We have previously demonst...

Matrix-free mass spectrometric imaging using laser desorption ionisation Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry

Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is a powerful tool in metabolomics and proteomics for the spatial localization and identification of pharmaceuticals, metabolites, lipids, peptides and proteins in biological tissues. However, sample preparation remains a crucial variable in obtaining the most accurate distributions. Common washing steps used to remove salts, and solvent-based matrix application,...

Ultra High-Mass Resolution Paper Spray by Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry

Paper Spray Ionization is an atmospheric pressure ionization technique that utilizes an offline electro-osmotic flow to generate ions off a paper medium. This technique can be performed on a Bruker SolariX Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer by modifying the existing nanospray source. High-resolution paper spray spectra were obtained for both organic and biological sampl...

Analysis of combinatorial libraries using electrospray Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry.

Electrospray ionization coupled with Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FTICR) mass spectrometry has been used to provide information about complete combinatorial libraries of small peptides containing 10(3)-10(4) components. The fidelity of attempted synthesis steps can be ascertained rapidly, and, when the extremely high resolution FTICR mass spectra are combined with appropriate comp...
